About

Jovia Financial Credit Union wanted to introduce itself to new members across the Brooklyn and Queens communities. The campaign needed to feel local, warm, and unlike anything the financial sector usually produces. The campaign centered around jovia•itis: a side effect of not-for-profit banking that causes you to have an inflammation of money and happiness.

Jovia•itis Super Bowl Spots

Two spots were aired in the tristate area during the Super Bowl, featuring illustrations and animations by Sebastian Curi.

During the shoot, I served as assistant production designer and assistant script supervisor. I helped design props and storyboards, and also coordinated scenes with the actors.

Poster

When brainstorming, the main question was: how do we translate the video into a poster? Do we pull phrases? I pulled a reverse Marvel and transformed the live-action into a comic. It retains the playfulness while effectively communicating what Jovia-itis is about.

Cover Wrap

The comic book also worked in a smaller format. This time, it’s reminiscent of Sunday comics.
The Jovia-itis campaign ran across New York City
on walls, in print, on television.

Bringing a financial brand into the neighborhoods it serves
in a way that felt genuinely local.
